F.A.Q’s
Why should I get a mechanic to service my bike?
Road bikes and all other bikes require regular servicing. Newer bikes require specialised tools which are expensive to purchase. Different brands require different tools. Whether you’re working on replacement parts for wheels, chain repairs, headsets, bolts or replacing your brake pads, finding the right tool or parts from the store is becoming increasingly difficult.
How much does it cost to service a bicycle?
We have different pricing and bike servicing options to suit any budget. From general service to complete bike strip and re-builds, you can count on Brads Bikes as your number one bike servicing provider. Please visit our Bike Service page for pricing options. If you cannot find a pricing or service option to suit your needs, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
What does a complete bike service include?
If you ride your bike often, the smallest noises and creaks can become annoying as the parts wear over time and with use. Sometimes your bike needs a complete service to fix these minor issues before they worsen.
We offer a bike service that inspects everything, such as bottom bracket creaks, replacement bolts, wheels, wheel bearings, gears, headset, cables, hubs, seat and frame — generally, all components come off the bike and are serviced.
Which areas do you provide bike servicing to?
We are located in Lilyfield, the Inner West of Sydney. However, we also provide bike services to customers 25km from Lilyfield, such as Balmain, Rozelle, Drummoyne, Leichhardt, Summer Hill, Glebe, Annandale and Ashfield.
Can I service my own bike at home?
You can do simple things at home like checking your brake pads, cleaning your chain and bolts and checking your headset before you ride. These are all essential steps that are important for a safe ride. You could even occasionally look at your frame to check for un-noticed damage.
However, for issues you are unsure how to fix or don’t have the tools for, it’s best to reach out to a professional bike servicing company like Brads Bikes.
